Forest Lake Cable Commission
Lakes Area Community Television serves as the area’s public access television station providing needed communication and entertainment choices that enrich the communities of Columbus and Forest Lake. Local public access channels are carried on Midco cable channels, LATV 10 and 20, which air 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Lakes Area TV
Lakes Area TV is a non-profit that operates on a small, fiscally prudent budget funded by franchise fees given to the local cities by cable provider, Midco. The station also earns revenue from business sponsorship, and DVD sales.
Forest Lake and Columbus have established the 4-member Forest Lake Cable Commission (FLCC) that sets policy for the station. Each city appoints a city council member and citizen representative. The Cable Commission meets bi-monthly on the 3rd Thursday.
Meetings are open to the public.
